The "Silmači" retreat is located in the Launkalne parish of Smiltene municipality, on a quiet pine-lined peninsula on Lake Lizdole. Locals have known the spot for decades — and it's becoming increasingly popular with families, groups of friends and camp organisers.
Between 13 camping cabins, 10 hotel rooms and the boathouse, the base can sleep 175 people, while the 10-hectare grounds can host an event for up to 1,500 participants. Sports courts, the sauna, boats and water activities are all available day to day, not just for big events.
